Welcome to the FAQ section. If you still have any questions that are not answered here please feel free to contact us!

1) My photo is important to me, is there any risk to the original photo?

NO, All of the work done to your photo is done digitally in a computer, the photo is scanned and then corrected. Your original photo remains in its original state. Our Shipping is handled thourgh Priority Mail .  At PhotoRenew, we know how much your treasured photos mean to you.

2) How will I know how much my picture will cost?

You can look at the pricing guide to determine an average price for the damage on your picture. Every photo is different and requires different attention so the price may vary. We provide free estimates and you will know the complete price before any work starts on you photo. All Advanced Restoration projects require an evaluation.  You will be contacted with the actual cost before the work begins.  ALL sevices PhotoRenew offers are 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed for 30 days.

3) How will I get an estimate?

After a careful inspection of you image we will email you with a firm price of how much the restoration will be. Only after we have an ok from you will work start on the project.

4) What is the best way to send my photo?

The fastest way to get your photo to us is to upload it through our secure server.  You can do this HERE , the upload server will open in a new window.  Use photorenew as the USER NAME & PASSWORD and upload your photograph. You can also scan and email it HERE. If you do not have a scanner you can take your photo to a copy center like Kinkos or another photo lab where they can scan it for you and place it on a CD.

5) What file type and size should I send?

The acceptable file types are JPEG, TIFF, TGA, and PSD. The file should be at about 300 dpi but please limit files to less than 4 MB.

6) Can I send the photo instead of a scanned file?

Yes you can send the original photo to us in the mail. However, the turnaround time for images sent through the mail can be 2 to 3 weeks instead of a few days with an electronic file.

7) How do I send the photo or photo CD in the mail?

We reccomend you use our Pre-Paid Mailer service.  This service will send you a prepaid USPS Priority envelope ready to ship back to us.  Click HERE to use this service. If you would prefer to send the photo yourself, Here are some simple steps for sending your photo through the mail:

1) Remove the photo from any glass frame...

2)Place the photo between two pieces of cardboard or like material that is cut a little larger then size of the photo.

3) Place the photo (or photo's) in an envelope and write "DO NOT BEND" on it.

4) It is also a good idea to use the USPS tracking service to make sure your photo arrives. We are not responsible for loss or damage caused by the USPS.

9) How do I pay?

PhotoRenew prefers PayPal.  PayPal is the safe and trusted way to use your credit card online for purchases.  PayPal will also process your checking or debit card through e-check.(This will take and additional 3 days). If you are not comfortable using this method you can also send a check or money order to the address above. Make all checks and money orders payable to PhotoRenew. (This may take up to an additional 7 business days.)  PhotoRenew is PayPal verified and been listed since 2000.  We accept Visa, MasterCard, and American Express. If you are not a PayPal member, we have to verify your credit card. This is for your safety and ours. It is necessary to collect your name, address, and credit card account number. The transmission of this information is completed over a secure link. This is the final step in completing your order. PayPal uses SSL technology to keep your information safe. In addition, when you send a payment using PayPal, the recipient won't receive sensitive financial information like your credit card or bank account number.



10) When do I pay?
Basic Restoration, Basic Colorization ad Pre-Paid Mailer services require pre-payment through PayPal, check or money order before services begin.  For Advanced restoration projects,  we will send a low quality file to your email address for your approval. If you are satisfied with the work all you need to do is pay by using one of the above methods and we will send you  you a printed version up to an 8x10.  Again, ALL sevices PhotoRenew offers are 100% Satisfaction Guaranteed for 30 days.
